Guerrilla Marketing Commercials

This video is not in English, but it gets the point accross.

MTV has started promoting bands in some unique ways. During some of their shows they play music. Nothing unusual about that, but they now list the band and the song title on the bottom of the screen. As the credits roll at the end of the shows, another song will play with a video of the band on the top half of the screen.

These are examples of a newer trend in marketing. It is called guerrilla marketing. Guerrilla marketing has been growing fast in the European countries and has been starting to show up in America. The YouTube video is not in English, but it has many great examples of guerrilla marketing. One of my favorites is the airport luggage conveyer belt that is covered in the Roulette table symbols!

The Lesson of The Day: Guerrilla marketing is a popular trend in marketing and advertising because it is unusual and eye catching. People enjoy looking at the strange and unique marketing techniques instead of an endless stream of commercials on TV. With TiVo and other methods for people to skip past commercials, advertisers need new ways to reach consumers. Guerrilla marketing is that method.
