Mac vs PC commercial - Bean Counter
This commercial is one in a long line of Mac vs PC commercials. This one is one of my favorites. In case you can’t see it, Mac (the one standing) is watching PC (the one sitting) put the money in two piles. The larger pile is for advertising and the smaller pile is for fixing Vista. At first, PC is putting money in both piles, but after Mac says that won’t be enough to fix the problems, he puts all the money in the advertising pile. There is no doubt that there are many problems with Vista. It seems all PC can do is spend money on advertising.
The Mac commercials, like this one, follows the Apple style. If you look at the basic Ipod and the MacBook, they are all basic and simple. The white back grounds and white material makes the products and advertisements seem simple and clean.
The lesson for today: Color is a very important in marketing. For example, different colors mean different things in different countries. At least in the U.S., blue is considered to be a calming color, red is usually love or anger, and green is related to money.
I LOVE those ads!
